On Tuesday April 20th, 2021 one of the North Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels services held a morning tea to thank the businesses and community that have supported them over the last 12 months.
A wide variety of businesses including The Bendigo Bank (Sanctuary Point Branch), The Country Club and Club Jervis Bay, Bakers Delight, Woolworths (Home Co, Vincentia), Tilly’s ( Home Co, Vincentia), Jervis Bay Wild, BBCR Icn have supported the Jervis Bay and Districts Service with grants to fund equipment purchases and refurbishments to the Huskisson Kitchen. In addition to the kitchen improvements many businesses have given donations of gifts for all of the clients and volunteers at Christmas.
Fiona Phillips MP the member for Gilmore is a great supporter of the Meals on Wheels community and joined the Jervis Bay and Districts community for the morning tea. Fiona thanked the volunteers for their tireless work and the community for their ongoing invaluable support.
“Services like Meals on Wheels can’t survive without these invaluable community partnerships and dedicated volunteers. For many of the clients of Meals on Wheels the only regular contact they have with others is the volunteers when meals are dropped off.”
A lovely morning tea was prepared in the Huskisson Kitchen and celebrated on a beautiful morning in a glorious part of NSW. Thank you to all involved we couldn’t do it without you.
