Q. My circumstances have changed due to Covid 19. I now need new or increased services quickly. What do I do?
A. In the first instance, clients seeking access to new or increased services should seek advice through the My Aged Care contact centre (1800 200 422). Assessors can be flexible and undertake urgent telephone assessments if required, for at-risk clients.
Q. Carers may be affected by the virus. Will Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) clients associated with carers be able to access respite services?
A. My Aged Care can assist in locating CHSP respite services or emergency respite for clients where required through the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres (CRCCs). The respite services available through the CHSP include Flexible Respite (in-home day or overnight respite), Centre-Based Respite and Cottage Respite (overnight respite in a community setting). Contact your nearest CRCC by phoning 1800 052 222 during business hours or 1800 059 059 for emergency respite support outside of standard business hours.
